Paperback grows recycled board range

Paperback, the London-based paper merchant, has expanded into the packaging market with the extension of its Cairn range of recycled boards, aimed at prestige products.

Paperback has introduced 14 new colours in thicknesses of 500, 700 and 1,000 microns.

Sheets are stocked in 700x1,150mm, but the continental mill that makes the board will also produce the sheets in special sizes and colour matches.

Cairn boards are suitable for litho and screen printing, embossing and foil blocking.

Paperback has operated as a recycled paper specialist catering for the office and graphic paper markets for more than 25 years.

The company identified an opportunity for the Cairn range in the packaging market, following the "opportune" increased interest in recycled board and the environment.

Paperback general manager Alan Goschalk said the range was very popular with designers and end users looking for "an earthy, organic aesthetic".

The range was particularly suited to prestige packaging such as whisky packaging, added Goschalk.
