Easyfairs, the trade show specialist, has said that more than 300 companies have confirmed stands for its packaging shows in February at the NEC in Birmingham.

The Easyfairs event, to be held on 11 and 12 February, includes the co-located shows Packaging Innovations, Ecopak, Packtech and Contract Pack.

Packaging Innovations will focus on finished products, while Ecopack is dedicated to sustainable and environmental packaging concepts.

Packtech will again highlight innovations in packaging machinery, printing systems and converting technology.

Contract Pack, held in conjunction with the British Contract Manufacturers & Packers Association, will showcase a whole spectrum of services including shrink-wrapping, labelling and pick and pack.

Peter Heath, Easyfairs UK managing director, said: "The 2008 shows were a phenomenal success, attracting brand managers and product development specialists and importantly budget-holders from sectors ranging from food and drink to cosmetics, pharmaceutical, chemicals, and toiletries.

"We only locate shows where there are buyers and we only invite people who are interested in buying. These are busy people so we make it easy for them to visit, ensuring that they arrive in the right frame of mind to do business."

Last year's shows attracted almost 4,000 visitors over two days.
