Anson owner Avro takes over RR Foodbox

RR Foodbox will continue "business as usual" following its acquisition by Avro Industries, the thermoformed packaging specialist.

All 40 staff at RR Foodbox's site in Keighley, West Yorkshire, will remain in place.

The firm makes plastic food containers and cardboard sandwich wedges for the on-the-go food market.

RR Foodbox managing director Richard Stott said the business would continue to operate as an independent, limited company.

The acquisition brings the combined turnover of Cambridge-based Avro Group to around £40m and staff numbers across the UK to approximately 400.

Avro Industries makes thermoformed plastic packaging for the food industry through its subsidiaries Anson Packaging and Anson Foodservice.
