Interpack organisers expect 2,700 exhibitors at show

The organisers of Interpack 2008 expect around 2,700 exhibitors to participate in the show, which opens its doors in seven weeks at Messe Düsseldorf.

The previous show, held in 2005, hosted 2,654 exhibitors from 57 countries.

Although the Messe was unwilling to forecast how many visitors would attend the show based on online ticket sales so far, a spokesman said he did not see any reason why numbers would not match the 176,964 visitors of three years ago.

All of the fairground's 19 halls will be occupied to show the latest developments in packaging and processing equipment.

The space in Hall 7a devoted to bioplastics will be three times larger than in 2005, the spokesman added. Around 45 firms involved in the production of polymers and granulates, additives, finishing and plastics, plus material suppliers, will exhibit in 1,000sqm of space.

In addition, around 50 firms, including folding box producers, packaging machinery manufacturers, design agencies and retailers, will exhibit in the Innovationparc.

Interpack 2008 runs from 24-30 April.
