Packaging equipment specialist, Krones will launch its new high-speed machine, which removes the need for a double-position palletiser, at Interpack 2008.

The Modupal 1 ADR palletiser can be used to achieve a single-pallet loading position, using two gripper heads and two lifting units, at speeds of up to 600 layers an hour.

Krones will also be showing the Robobox grouping system that incorporates a new gripper to guide the pack through the entire turning and distribution process.

The machine can accommodate packs of up to 400x400mm that have a maximum weight of 18kg and be matched to any line speed.

Krones will also demonstrate the Variopac Pro Packer shrink wrapper packing a 0.5-litre PET container that weighs only 8.8g in 25-micron PET film.

The company said the machine would reduce energy consumption by 20%.

Krones will be at stand B45/D38 in Hall 16 of the Messe Düsseldorf.
