Green Light launches biodegradable air packaging

Green Light Products has launched Opus Bio Film, a biodegradable air cushion packaging system.

Opus Bio Film is an ethylene-based material that contains an active additive that enables the film to break down via oxo-biodegradation.

Opus Bio Film cushions will biodegrade in home or commercial compost facilities in up to 24 months.

Karl Yeo, managing director of Cardiff-based Green Light, said: "We are committed not only to selling products that offer a significantly better environmental performance than other products in the same market, but also to ensuring that customers are not paying a premium for choosing the more responsible solution."

Customers in the pharmaceutical, lighting and gift sectors have tested Opus Bio for several months.
