Timestrip secures Great Ormond Street deal

Timestrip has broken into a new market by winning a contract to supply world-famous Great Ormond Street Hospital with smart labels.

Hospital staff will use the Timestrip labels, which give visual indications of time elapsed, to monitor cleaning procedures.

"It's small-scale but very exciting as it's our first step into the NHS," said joint chief executive Reuben Isbitsky. "However, its potential is massive if we can go forth and multiply by rolling it out to other NHS hospitals and globally.

"The hospital will use a variety of labels from one month to one year to match its cleaning protocols," he said.

Isbitsky said there was no timescale to the contract and it was too early specify volumes, but the hospital had adopted the system and was increasing its use.

"It's too early to determine how much use we will get within one particular hospital: it's more about the potential if we can get it into other hospitals throughout the world."
