Film price comparison website adds coreless products

Thestretchmarket.com, the price comparison website for hand roll stretch film, has added coreless stretch film products to its site in response to growing customer demand.

David Grice, managing director of thestretchmarket.com, told Packaging News: "We have been taken a back by the demand for coreless stretch film since we launched it on our site last week.

"Companies are saving more than just the cost of the cardboard core - the benefits of reduced packaging waste and associated recycling costs further strengthen the argument for coreless stretch film."

Thestretchmarket.com will supply two plastic reusable dispensers free of charge with every pallet ordered.

A pallet of coreless stretch film weighs 83kg less than that of a pallet of conventional stretch film, therefore reducing the impact of vehicle emmissions on the environment.

In addition, a company using one pallet of conventional stretch per week could save more than four tonnes of cardboard waste per annum from its waste stream.

The website was launched by the owner of packaging distributor Pure Packaging & Print. It publishes the best prices for a range of stretch films and sends the orders directly to the film manufactures. The website then receives commission from the film manufacturers.
