The AIM Group buys Packmasters UK
The AIM Group of Companies has bought the assets of machinery manufacturer Packmasters UK after the retirement of managing director Dick Roper.
The purchase will enable AIM to improve its offering of packaging systems, such as conveyors and stretch-blowing machines and removes dual overheads where the companies shared a customer base.
It also provides for in-house refurbishment, overhaul and disposal of existing machinery.
AIM managing director Paul Rooksby said: "In these difficult economic times, it has become increasingly important to keep overheads as low as possible and the combining of resources will be of great benefit to both the group and our customers."
Packmasters technical director Mike Lane is remaining with the operation to ensure the continuity of contracts, new business development and the successful integration into AIM.
The acquisition complements AIM's activities in the removal, installation and disposal of packaging lines for the food and drink and pharmaceutical markets.
