Fencor cuts costs with Lüscher digital press buy

Corrugated shelf-ready packaging specialist Fencor Packaging has bought a Lüscher JetPrint 3530 UV large-format digital printer to help cut costs and improve turnaround times.

The machine has been installed at the East Anglian company's point-of-purchase display design business, Lee Creative, and can print on small formats and on the majority of substrates.

The six-colour printer gives a printable area of 3,500mm x 3,050mm and can reach speeds of 100sqm per hour at resolutions of 600dpi.

Lee Creative business manager Alex Roberts said: "Because the machine lets us image direct to the lens instead of a substrate, we can reduce costs and improve our overall response time considerably.

"And with an increased print size capability, it is an ideal fit for our high-profile display work."

Fencor has four manufacturing sites and produces a range of packaging including corrugated boxes, point-of-sale displays, retail-ready packaging and pallet boxes.

The group, consisting of Manor Packaging, ACH Corrugated, Lee Packaging and Lee Creative, rebranded as Fencor Packaging in January.
