Bobst Group experiences sharp fall in orders

In a press statement, the company said: “Since September 2008, the order intake declined sharply in all product lines and all geographic areas; a situation never experienced before.”

The company said European orders remained relatively stable, but orders from North America were down by 38%, fell by 74% in Asia and slumped by 15% in Africa.

It said orders in the folding carton sector were down by 18%, while the corrugated business saw orders fall by 6% and orders in the flexible materials sector declined by 22%.

Bobst will publish its full figures at the end of March.
