The British Plastics Federation (BPF) is holding a dedicated bioplastics seminar in London next month, to clarify issues in the sector and outline where the future lies for the materials.

“Bio-based and degradable plastics are an exciting addition to the plastics family, but there is real confusion among the industry and downstream users as to their properties and appropriate use,” said BPF director-general Peter Davis.

“By drawing together industry experts this BPF seminar will help to clarify the advantages these materials can bring and to establish their future role,” he said.

Speakers at the Bio-based and Degradable Plastics seminar will include John Williams of the National Non Food Crops Centre, Graham Chapman of Addiflex and Dr Gary Ogden of Wells Plastics, amongst others.

Topics will include an in-depth assessment of new and emerging technologies and consider the life-cycle in industrial and packaging applications.

The seminar will be held at BPF House in London on 13 May. To register for the event, click here.
