German machinery supplier Oystar Group has sold four packaging machines and five cartoners to a variety of customers based in Latin America.

The group’s Oystar Benhil division has received an order from Chile’s largest dairy – Soprole, a subsidiary of New Zealand’s Fonterra Cooperative Group – for a Multipack 5000 wrapping machine to package its margarine.

The machine, which has an output of 135 packs per minute and can handle formats ranging from 50g to 500g, will be installed in 2010.

Oystar A+F is also supplying the dairy firm with a fully automated wraparound packer. The cartoner will collect and stack the packages supplied by the Multipack wrapper and packs them into shipping cartons.

Other arms of the Oystar group have also signed recent orders in the region. Oystar IWK has sold two new tube-filling lines to an unnamed leading international drugstore merchandise manufacturer.

A TFS 80-8, which Oystar claims is the world’s fastest tube filling line, will be delivered and installed at the firm’s Brazil plant in 2010; while the pharmaceutical firm has also bought a TFS 80-6 for its Mexico facility.

Elsewhere, Oystar Fabrima received four separate orders for cartoning machines from four customers based in Brazil; while Oystar Gasti has won a contract to supply a Dogatherm cup-filling and sealing machine to a Chilean customer.

Oystar supplies packaging machinery, technology and services to companies across the world and specialises in the dairy, food, drink, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

The company is based in Stutensee in Germany. It represents 17 manufacturing companies, employs about 2,500 people and achieved sales of EUR 465m in 2008.
