Ivan and Elaine Tutin, the former owners of Towcester-based Adpack, will join Central Pharma along with their entire team, taking the Bedford-based contract packer’s headcount to more than 100.
Central Pharma managing director Graham Clark said the experience of the couple and their employees would be hugely beneficial to his company.
The acquisition does not include Adpack’s Towcester site so equipment and people will be transferred 27 miles to the new facility.
Central Pharma opened a new 4,000sqm facility last December and turnover has doubled from £2.5m to £5m over the past 15 months.
The site can produce 100 million blisters and 80 million pots a year, as well as liquid and anaesthetic filling, strip packaging, cartons and flow-wrapping.
Central Pharma was the Nampak MY Healthcare Contract Packaging Division until Clark led a buyout in March 2006.
