Contract packing event added to EasyFairs line-up

BCMPA chief executive Rodney Steel said having a show dedicated to contract packing was "very exciting", particularly as the industry was enjoying significant growth in the UK.

"More brand owners are starting to outsource their operations, particularly where they are looking to be one step ahead of their competitors and do not necessarily want to invest in their own packaging equipment," he said.

Steel said he expected "at least 25 firms" that were already working successfully with brand owners in the pharmaceuticals, food and beverage, chemicals, toiletries, cosmetics and general packaging industries to exhibit at Contract Pack.

The event will showcase pack design, blister/clam packing, shrink-wrapping, labelling, point-of-sale displays, pick and pack, warehousing and distribution.

EasyFairs UK packaging portfolio director Simon Twilley said Contract Pack would be a "real boost" to the exhibition.

"We've already taken more bookings for Packaging Innovations than we had for this year's event in Coventry, and Packtech is already the same size. The addition of Ecopack, the new exhibition on green packaging, and Contract Pack will be a major attraction for visitors," he said.
