Firefighters from nearby Hyndburn Fire Station were called to the scene to release the male, whose hand was allegedly wedged between two rollers in the press. It was reported that the fire crew took 20 minutes to release the hand before the victim was taken to Royal Blackburn Hospital for treatment. The Health and Safety Executive confirmed the accident had been reported and said it was awaiting a report from the company before deciding how to proceed.
