Expansion planned after buy-out at Wasdell PackagingJill Park, 12 August 2009Be the first to comment on this article Major growth is planned for pharmaceutical contract packer Wasdell Packaging after TD Packaging’s former managing director acquired a majority stake in the company. TD Packaging founder and former managing director Martin Tedham’s investment marks the start of a round of new investment in Wasdell Packaging, which will include a purpose-built facility in Swindon. The new facility will be fully-equipped with facilities for container and liquid filling, blister packs, sachets and more, to meet orders from new and existing customers. Daniel Tedham, Martin Tedham’s son, told Packaging News that in terms of business, the new site would be “more of the same”. “We’ve got a lot of big potential orders in the pipeline,” he said. Further investment is also planned for Wasdell’s existing Gloucestershire-based facility in Stonehouse. The investment marks Martin Tedham’s first return to the pharmaceutical packaging industry after he sold TD Packaging to United Drug in 2005. This will not be the first time he has worked with Wasdell Packaging as his first role in the pharmaceutical packaging sector was with the company. “It feels like I have returned to my roots and I am overjoyed to be back at Wasdell’s,” he said.
