The three Loma Systems IQ³ metal detectors were installed by Fiddes Payne in October and started production of a new product line in November.
The company, which has a wide product range, has benefited from the machines’ ability to learn the characteristics and settings of up to 100 different products, which means the machine does not have to be re-calibrated for each product.
The machines can also operate at frequencies between 40kHz and 900kHz.
Fiddes Payne has previously purchased Loma machines and has been pleased with both the service and competitive prices from the company.
Production manager at the company Andy Hearne said: “We have strict specifications to meet our own BRC standard and we felt that the IQ³ met this benchmark.”
According to Hearne the Loma machines are durable and efficient, which have been a “great success in ensuring our premium product”.
“In fact, I think it is the least problematic piece of kit on the line,” he said.
Loma Systems is a global manufacturer of metal detection, check weighing, X-ray inspection, temperature measurement and management information systems for the food industry.
