David Kaye is to stand down as managing director of packaging equipment supplier Krones UK in May 2008, after almost 33 years with the firm.

Kaye will be replaced by Andrew Wilson, who is being promoted from technical manager to technical director and managing director designate.

Kaye, who has been managing director for 28 years, will retire on his 65th birthday.

As well as the new role for Wilson, which takes effect from 1 July, Krones has also promoted Mark Heath from sales manager to sales director.

Kaye told Packaging News that he did not have any firm plans for his retirement at this stage, “but I’m a driven person so it won’t be pipe and slippers and The Daily Telegraph”.
