Linpac Allibert, the materials handling division of the Linpac Group, has launched Linpac Services to expand further into returnable transit packaging (RTP) support services.

Linpac Services brings together Linpac Allibert’s Logtek and Intellident supply chain businesses, combining Logtek’s expertise in asset management, leasing, equipment washing and repairs, refurbishments and recycling with Intellident’s RFID-enabled technology and asset tracking software.

The division, headed by commercial director Peter Higgs, employs around 250 people.

“Linpac Allibert has built a business in not only supporting high-quality RTP, but also delivering the entire range of support activities required to keep that RTP in constant active service,” said Higgs.

“The launch of Linpac Services makes it easy to access these services and draw on those elements needed to help businesses track and minimise costs.”

Logtek staff have relocated from Birmingham Business Park to a new UK commercial office in Quinton, West Midlands, while Intellident staff remain in Stockport, Cheshire. The management team will work across both sites.

Linpac Services will also offer the updated Assetrack asset management system, a web-based application that provides real-time reports of the location and contents of RTP at any given time. It is integrated with the firm’s RFID and bar code tracking systems.

The firm is backed by the Linpac Group, a £1.1bn global business made up of four core divisions which together offer tailored packaging and materials handling products and services.

Linpac Allibert contributes 25% of total Linpac Group sales.
