Logopak secures UK orders for Tkeg labellers

Logopak International, the print and apply labelling specialist, has secured three orders with UK breweries for its latest keg labelling machines.

Logopak UK, which declined to name its customers, said the 500 Tkeg and 400 Tkeg offered 10% higher speeds and were easier to maintain than previous machines as they use fewer parts.

The 500 Tkeg can process 900 kegs an hour, while the 400 Tkeg is designed for smaller breweries in runs of up to 500 kegs an hour.

A company spokesman told Packaging News the machines also benefited from an email interface that enabled onsite engineers, or Logopak technicians, to swiftly react to any problems.

“The idea is to reduce the number of people needed to look after the machine when it’s installed,” he added.

The labellers, which were first adopted by German brewer Beck’s, can be used as standalone units with product data held in the memory or directly connected to a host system to receive labelling data in real time.

The spokesman said that a machine had already been installed in one brewery in the north of England, and the firm had received two more orders from other UK breweries.
