A team effort by workers at Manroland’s UK head office has led to it being awarded the environmental management system accreditation ISO 14001.

Workers at Manroland’s Mitcham facility have taken steps to increase recycling across the business and eliminate all unnecessary electric lighting and air-conditioning.

The company is also continually looking for ways to improve its green credentials, for example by investigating new eco-friendly products when they enter the market.

Manroland’s human resources manager Annie Clough managed Manroland’s ISO 14001 project.

She said: “Prior to our achieving ISO 14001, many customers had enquired whether or not we held the accreditation and we’re proud to be playing a key role in their efforts to secure an environmentally sound supply chain.”

Manroland GB managing director Norman Revill added that the company would “continue to seek further improvements throughout the business”.

Manroland is an international manufacturer of printing presses. It employs 9,000 people and has annual sales of EUR 2bn.
