Mondi invests in new corrugator kit for Turkish plant

The investment has funded the purchase of a new BHS Corrugator High-Speed machine which can produce up to 400 linear metres of corrugated board per minute.

The machine is fully-automated, including a temperature control system.

The company said the kit will increase the plant’s production capacity but declined to say by how much.

Thomas Ott, chief executive of recycled containerboard and corrugated packaging, said: “This investment allows us to proactively meet the ever changing needs of our customers and strengthen the packaging business in Turkey.”

The Izmit plant employs 237 people and is ISO 9001 certified.

Its product mix includes up to seven-colour flexo printed multi-coloured boxes, die cut and multi-point glued boxes, platform boxes and standard corrugated boxes.
