Nestlé Swiss plans to extend its range of airport-targeted chocolates with the launch of five novelty gift packs made from Stora Enso board.

The Nestlé Swiss range will increase from six flavours of 400g chocolates to include five novelty gift packs in March 2009, two of which will include giant pralines.

Stora Enso supplies Ensocoat solid bleached board for Nestlé Swiss packaging from its Baienfurt ServiceCentre in Southern Germany.

Model PrimePac prints the majority of new Nestlé Swiss packs and delivers them to the Nestlé factory in Broc, Switzerland.

Ensocoat has a neutral teint and odour and so does not transfer taste and smell to the chocolate.

Marcin Nawalany, brand manager of Nestlé International Travel Retail said that the high quality of the packaging board is essential as shoppers scrutinise the pack at point of purchase.

“In travel retail, we don’t have big marketing budget for television or print advertising, so we focus on appealing packaging and point-of-purchase material,” he said.

“What works in our channel are exclusive formats not found in regular supermarkets.”
