Dupont brings antistatic edge

DuPont Packaging and Industrial Polymers’ latest product Entira AS provides plastic packaging with antistatic properties, high frequency weldability and high moisture per- meability for cosmetics, food and beverages and electronics.

Developed by the joint venture DuPont-Mitsui Polychemicals, Entira AS adds antistatic properties to tottles – a combination of tube and bottle – where high-gloss Surlyn is used for the outer skin. Entira AS also offers long-term resistance to both dirt and dust, while Dupont’s Elvaloy AC modifier creates a soft-touch surface.

Tottles containing Entira, Surlyn and Elvaloy would not require any additional lacquering and are printable using standard processes. Semi-gloss or matte surfaces can also be created.

Todd Becker, global market manager at DuPont, said: “Entira AS is the first in a long line of high-performance modifiers that DuPont will be bringing to the marketplace.”
