Belpac signs first medical contract

West Midlands thermoforming specialist Belpac has secured a three-year contract, worth over £1m, to supply thermoformed clampacks and trays for medical and theatre procedures to healthcare services provider Rocialle Inhealth.

To meet the stringent hygiene standards needed for BRC/IoP accreditation, which allows food and medical packaging to be manufactured in a clean room environment, Belpac invested in a ‘high care’ production area, where the packaging can be processed under strictly controlled conditions.

“The medical sector is new  for us and one that we have been keen to break into for some time,” said Ian Blunt, Belpac’s managing director. “But our hard work and investment in both facilities and
staff has paid off. We are delighted to be working with Rocialle Inhealth.”

Geoff Grottick, group purchasing director of Rocialle Inhealth, said: “Belpac was extremely proactive with the whole project and produced quality tooling and components within an exacting time-scale. That allowed us to move the business seamlessly without disruption to the supply chain.”
