KBA units spark UK pack interest
KBA presses have attracted interest from two UK packaging print firms that attended a BPIF Cartons innovations workshop at the manufacturer’s plant near Dresden last month.
KBA executive sales director Mark Nixon said the printers were interested in large-format presses after seeing them in operation together with Sun Chemical inks, Bobst machines and Kodak screening technology at KBA’s Radebeul plant.
BPIF Cartons director Mike Hopkins said the federation was still “glowing” after praise for the “excellent” organisation and content of the event, attended by 42 delegates.
He said: “I was really pleasantly surprised by how people reacted to the basket of innovations put forward. There was nothing that was completely new, but we hope that by the next BPIF Cartons meeting in September, most of the companies that attended will have implemented some new ideas to their business.”
