Ishida to turn spotlight on new inspection kit at Interpack

Ishida Europe has expanded its range of X-ray inspection systems for the food industry with a product that monitors large products and cartons.

The packaging equipment firm said the IX-GA-65100, which will be shown for the first time in Europe at Interpack in Düsseldorf from 24-30 April, can inspect products measuring up to 100cm long, 65cm wide and 39cm high.

The system can detect metal, bone, plastic, glass, stone and hard rubber through aluminium foil and in tins, and identify incomplete or damaged packages.

The firm said the IX-GA range, which is already available in Japan, used genetic algorithm technology to identify difficult-to-detect contaminants with a high degree of accuracy.

The IX-GA-65100 is made from stainless steel and the belt conveyor can be removed without tools. It is controlled via a touch screen on a Windows XP interface.
