Revolution Oil selects Greif to supply primary product container
Revolution Oil has chosen Greif's Valérex drum as its primary product container.
The firm, which supplies around 2,000 different products, including engine oils and antifreeze, to independent garages, said it selected the 20-litre HDPE drum because it would not "break, dent or rust".
The Valérex drum features a large handle for easy tipping and pouring, as well as an internal thread to the cap that allows threaded hoses to be directly connected.
Revolution Oil chose a drum with a white body and added caps in its corporate colours of red and blue. A screen-printed stretch sleeve in three colours covers the entire container.
Greif UK commercial director Malcolm Cousins said the Valérex drum was celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
"The silkscreen format has been the norm for a long time, but customers are now demanding more colours with better definition and quality, which are provided by the sleeve," he said.
Greif UK is part of the US-based packaging group, which specialises in steel, fibre and plastic drums.
Last August, Greif's acquisition of Blagden Packaging Group's large steel drum business in the UK was cleared by the Competition Commission after an inquiry.
