Paper, board and plastics merchant Robert Horne Group has acquired leading distributor of semi-finished plastic products Vink Plastics UK.

The purchase of the Manchester-based company has strengthened Robert Horne's presence in the plastic sign, graphics and construction industries.

Robert Horne managing director Dave Allen said the move signalled their commitment to "sustained growth" within the plastics market.

Allen said Robert Horne would "continue to develop this market both by organic growth and possible future acquisitions".

Robert Horne marketing manager Terry Cattle said there are a lot of "synergies" between the two companies in terms of the markets they serve and products they sell. 

The company management and workforce structure is under review at the moment added Cattle.

Robert Horne currently operates five companies: Robert Horne Paper, Robert Horne Business Papers, Glenmore Business Papers, Robert Horne Sign & Display and Robert Horne Plastics.
