BPF reacts after members report fall in business
The British Plastics Federation (BPF) is to assess the state of the sector after its members reported a dramatic drop-off of business this month.
The BPF hopes that the feedback will make it better equipped to lobby government on behalf of its members, which include plastic packaging converters.
BPF director-general Peter Davis noted that rising energy and raw material prices in particular had adversely affected businesses in recent times.
Davis told Packaging News that cross industry members had approached him this week to tell him that they had experienced a decrease in business.
"From anecdotal information we are very concerned about what we are hearing," he said.
The survey will be issued to members within the next week, to be returned by 25 June for collation and assessment.
