Graphic Packaging increases recycled board prices

Graphic Packaging International is to increase the price of its recycled boards to combat the soaring cost of fibre, energy and chemicals.

The US firm, which has a UK base in Bristol and operations in Brazil, France and Spain, will increase the price of its coated recycled board and uncoated recycled board by $50 (£25) a ton.

The rise will come into effect on 28 July and Graphic Packaging has also announced new freight allowances.

The move follows rises announced for the firm's Pearl-Kote and Omni-Kote coated unbleached kraft paperboard, used in food packaging and Aqua-Kote for drinks carriers, by $40 a ton, which come into force on 1 August.

Graphic Packaging, based in Georgia, produces folding cartons and coated-recycled boxboard and speciality bag packaging.
