Linpac Packaging restructure rolls on with purchasing VP appointment
Linpac Packaging’s wide-ranging management restructure has taken another step with the appointment of Bart Stubbe as vice-president of purchasing.
Stubbe was previously director of purchasing for the West Yorkshire-based firm, but his appointment to the role follows the creation of a series of vice-president roles earlier this year.
Stubbe, who has worked at Linpac for two years, said that recent rises in raw materials costs had made it "more important than ever" that purchasing was done responsibly.
His appointment is the latest stage in the implementation of a management structure that is aimed at sharpening the £700m-turnover group’s customer focus.
Under the restructure, which kicked off in the summer, a number of vice-presidents run divisions organised by market sectors rather than geographical or technical areas.
The four key divisions are Bakery, Food Service, Fruit & Produce and Protein, while vice presidents have also been appointed to head up human resources, information technology, marketing and operations. One geographical division remains, covering the Americas, Africa and Asia.
The restructure is the brainchild of president and managing director Ralf Wunderlich, who joined Linpac Packaging last year. He said that the new structure would "accelerate our ability to share best practice across the company".
