TRM Packaging workers celebrate 1,000 years of services

TRM Packaging, the Lancashire corrugated packaging firm, has awarded gift vouchers to 35 of its staff, who have accrued more than 1,000 years of service.

A ceremony a Burscough Cricket Club recognised the commitment to the company in a range of positions including forklift truck driver and shift manager.

The longest serving member of staff, engineering team leader Hugh Ainscough, has been with the company more than 35 years, while 22 people had worked at TFM, in its previous incarnations as Westbrook and then Seyfert, for over three decades.

Chief executive Trevor Maund said: "All of the staff have been instrumental in helping meet the needs of thousands of companies for conventional corrugated products and boxes.

"TRM is a friendly place to work and we like to think that is why so many staff have chosen to spend their whole careers here."

The firm manufactures a range of corrugated packs for the poultry, fresh produce and drinks sectors, among others.
