Severnside Recycling snaps up Vale Paper

Vale, based in Wigan, will be merged into Severnside’s existing facility at Bolton and, according to a statement from Severnside, all staff will be retained.

Catalogue distribution firms, printers, box makers, greetings card manufacturers and buildings societies form the core of Vale Papers’ client list.

Severnside said that the acquisition of the paper and board recycling specialist fitted with its long-term strategy and hinted that further acquisitions would be on the way.

Managing director Peter McGuinness said that the deal would “strengthen Severnside’s position and enable us to achieve growth” in a competitive market.

He added: “Severnside will continue to grow organically together with selective acquisitions.”
