Smurfit Kappa cracks secret to stackable TRDUs

Smurfit Kappa’s in-house design team created a die-cut pad that sits on a wooden or corrugated pallet to hold the wheels of the TRDU in place during transit.

As a result, the TRDUs can be stacked one on top of the other, thus saving valuable transit space and reducing the amount of warehouse space required for storage.

The reusable Dolly Stacker is manufactured from a single piece of corrugated board and available with a minimum order of between 150 and 250 units.

“Due to the wheeled base of the dollies used in TRDUs, it was previously not possible to double stack these products,” said Smurfit Kappa Abercarn sales director Richard Fishwick.

“However, Smurfit Kappa’s new Dolly Stacker solution means we can optimise transit and storage opportunities for transit retail displays.”

Smurfit Kappa UK has a nationwide network of 36 operations.
