STI Group acquires Line Packaging and Display for UK growthJill Park, 7 April 2010Be the first to comment on this article German-based point-of-sale manufacturer STI Group has expanded its presence in the UK by acquiring Line Packaging and Display. STI Group’s existing UK arm, the STI Sales and Design Centre in London and Line Packaging and Display will be renamed STI Line. Line Packaging and Display, a producer of temporary retail displays, employs about 100 people at its Gillingham, Kent site. No jobs will be lost following the deal. The Gillingham site will be STI Line’s UK headquarters. Line Packaging and Display has a turnover of approximately £15.75m and the company’s founder Geoff Down will remain with the business for the next six to 12 months before he retires. Down said: “The decision to move the business into the STI Group was driven by market needs for an extended product portfolio as well as an international dimension, which can now be offered under one roof.” STI Group and Line Packaging and Display operate in similar sectors for clients including Procter & Gamble, Warner, Brothers and Nestle.
