CRP Print & Packaging is targeting a new recyclable bulk transit pack, complete with forklift access, at a range of bulk applications including automotive components.

The Corby-based packaging and point-of-purchase specialist initially developed the container for an unnamed customer, but is now actively marketing the product for the transportation of heavy inflatable products, and other large and heavy items across a multitude of industries.

The heavy-duty corrugated-fibreboard pallet is 100% recyclable and capable of storing a stacked load in excess of 300kg.

The product is one of several styles that CRP can manufacture at Corby on its Box King machine, supplied by Klett.

Matt Blockley, manager of CRP’s heavy duty packaging business, said: “We saw an opportunity to develop and market a product that gives a viable alternative to conventional containers and traditional timber palletisation.

“Its recyclability will be of interest to customers, and the fact that it is made from corrugated fibreboard will allow them to bypass timber treatment regulations.
