Haribo, the European confectionery manufacturer, has extended it contract with Chep to include the use of its full sized pallets for the distribution of products across Europe

The extension represents an additional 500,000 pallets movements each year.

Haribo has been using Chep display pallets for the transport and display of its products in the German domestic market and Chep full sized pallets for international shipments.

Dr Reinhard Schneider, Haribo financial manager, said: “Our customers are increasingly using automated warehousing for which a guaranteed availability of higher quality pallets is required.

“Also, there are significant costs and time involved in managing the white pallet exchange service for both Haribo and also our transporters. At the end of the day these were the main reasons we decided to expand our business with CHEP.”

Chep has more than 7,000 employees and operates in 45 countries. It has asset base of more than 300 million pallets and containers.
