Faraday reveals line-up for York briefing event
The full line-up of speakers has been named for the FaraPack Briefing 2006, which will be held on October 11-12 at York Racecourse.
Joining Tony Ryan from Sheffield University and Flemming Hansen of Copenhagen School of Business as keynote speakers (see Packaging News, July 2006, page 4) are Sarah Risch from Michigan State University, who will speak on innovation and technology in packaging.
Charles Spence from Oxford University will make a presentation on the design of multisensory packaging and John Clarkson from Cambridge University will give a paper entitled: “Countering design exclusion: a business imperative?”
In addition there will be briefing sessions on sustainability and convenience. Julian Vincent of Bath University will speak about biomimetics, which is engineering design inspired by nature. Alaster Yoxall from Sheffield University will look at convenience from an inclusive design aspect and talk about ‘openability’, particularly in view of the trend towards Britons living longer and alone. The third briefing session is on indulgence and will cover colour emotion and anti-counterfeiting.
Rounding off the sessions is an interactive workshop on packaging in a digital age.
