Walkers installs Schubert TLMs

Walkers Snack Foods has fitted three new Schubert automated packaging systems for packing crisps in its plants in the Midlands and North East.

The new machines mean the firm’s parent group, PepsiCo, has bought a total of seven Schubert machines this year, following the installation of four lines at the Walkers factory in Leicester.

The TLM-F44 units were developed by Schubert’s specialist packaging integration division, IPS. Two are in operation at Walkers’ Peterlee facility, while the third has been installed at its Coventry site.

Each line is designed to handle a range of pack sizes and can fill up to 480 bags per minute from hoppers and a pair of vibratory bowl feeders.
