Polyformes buys Performance Solution Packaging

Foam converter Polyformes has acquired packaging manufacturer Performance Solution Packaging (PSP) for an undisclosed sum.

Polyformes executive chairman Paul Henrick told Packaging News that the services PSP and Polyformes provide are complementary and do not overlap.

Leighton Buzzard-based Polyformes' services include design through to manufacture of high specification composite packaging for a whole range of industries.

Henrick said that the company would now focus on making changes, "not in terms of staff, but in the way things happen".

PSP is one of the few companies in the UK that holds military packaging accreditation, enabling supply to the Ministry of Defence and the aerospace industry.

The company works in a range of areas, including cover design, prototyping, testing and manufacture of composite packaging in timber, corrugated board, solid board, foams, flight cases and plastic cases.

Polyformes has experienced strong sales this year, buoyed by its military customers.

"We look on the next 12 months as a period of opportunity," added Henrick.
