Logopak gets heavy with chemical firm's labellers

Chemicals manufacturer Kemira has turned to Logopak UK to install a new trio of industrial-strength print and apply labellers.

The international group has bought the three Logopak 920 machines for its Bradford plant, which produces water treatment and other chemicals.

Two of the three machines apply labels up to a full A4 size to 25kg sacks of chemicals and adjacent conveyor lines at speeds of up to 17 labels every minute.

Both are protected from dust, cold and damp by enclosures and weigh 560kg each.

Logopak UK general manager Wilson Clark said that to overcome limited space, the company had built a single heavy-duty structure to hold both machines.

The third machine is configured as a side pallet labeller, applying A5 labels to up to 80 pallets every hour.
