Offset Productions chooses Bobst SPeria die-cutter

Print and packaging specialist Offset Productions Limited (OPL) has added to its Bobst Group shopping list with a SPeria 142-E die-cutter.

The Aylesford, Kent-based firm, which plumped for a Foliostar sheet-to-sheet laminator from Bobst Group subsidiary Asitrade earlier this month, ordered the SPeria as part of its ongoing £3m investment programme.

The finishing machine, which comprises the third arm of the spend, offers less downtime by reducing stops in production via its automated Feeder Plus system.

OPL managing director Hugh Jarvis said: "Having ordered a KBA Rapida 142 press and a 1,650mm-wide Asitrade Foliostar sheet-to-sheet laminator for the programme, we needed a large-format die-cutter to match."

The machine, which takes sheets between 700x500mm and 1,420x1,020mm, continues OPL's relationship with the post-press manufacturer.

"Two years ago, we installed a Bobst SPanthera 106-LE for our carton and greetings card work and we have been very pleased with it," added Jarvis.

Stuart Taylor, product manager for Bobst die-cutters in the UK and Ireland, said the SPeria was perfect for the litho-laminated board that will "make up the bulk of its production at OPL".

Taylor added: "It's the ideal production tool for this type of work because of its optimised sheet transfer, its Feeder Plus system and the rigidity of the machine architecture."
