Further Eastern European sales for Redpack

Norwich-based Redpack Packaging Machinery has expanded its presence in Eastern Europe with two new sales to be installed imminently.

A Polish tomato supplier has ordered a standalone automatic tomato feeder unit that is capable of running at speeds of up to 6,000 packs of tomatoes per hour.

The machine can also be configured to pack other graded fresh produce, such as kiwi fruit and lemons.

Another Polish Redpack customer, a manufacturer of multi-pack razors, has ordered a P325 flow wrapper for its Russian manufacturing facility.

The sale is estimated to be worth in excess of £100,000.

Redpack sales executive Steve Crow said the company had made a concerted effort to target the Eastern European market after receiving a few enquiries from that region.

"It seemed to us that the market was opening up a little bit, as they've recently been included in the EU. It seems they are Europeanising themselves," said Crow.

The company installed a machine into a Latvian sandwich factory six months ago, which converts cartonboard sandwich skillets.

Redpack Packaging Machinery has been designing and manufacturing flow-wrapping machines for nearly 30 years.
