Brand Design: Badger

July 1, 2008 Comments Off

Independent brewer Hall & Woodhouse, based in Blandford, Dorset, is using a taller, slimmer and 27% lighter bottle for its Badger ales, designed by London agency Butcher & Gundersen

The Badger logo, encased in the year 1777, is engraved onto the shoulder of the bottle to enhance brand recognition.

The new 500ml amber and flint bottles weigh 300g compared with 409g previously. Hall & Woodhouse brands marketing manager Rick Payne said the weight reduction would save 1,500 tonnes of glass packaging a year.

The Badger products are being rolled out into every leading supermarket, at an average price of £1.69.
