Creative Edge designs packaging for Rick Stein biscuit range

Rick Stein’s first biscuit range will be launched this week in packaging designed by Truro-based consultancy Creative Edge.

The collaboration came about after biscuit manufacturer Furniss of Cornwall, with whom Creative Edge had previously worked, approached the agency to design the packaging.

This is the first of Stein’s products to be sold on a national scale and so Creative Edge was tasked with creating a brand that reflected Stein and had shelf standout.

“We tried to keep the design very clean and contemporary and to bring a bit of what he has created in Padstow to the packaging,” said Creative Edge creative director Dave Rickett.

Integral to the design is the image of Stein and his signature, which has been incorporated on to the top of the biscuits themselves.

The biscuits will be available in three flavours – Cornish Sea Salt, Davidstow Cheddar and thyme from Waitrose supermarkets this week. To be followed by a wider UK and international roll-out.
