Designers create beer packs that turn into musical instruments: galleryJosh Brooks, 7 September 2010Be the first to comment on this article Two US designers are looking to help budding musicians with a beer bottle and multi-pack that become an instrument after use.
The bottles have been inspired by latin percussion instrument the Guiro and have ridges on one side that can be played with the cap, while the neck is designed to be held comfortably with two fingers. The label is designed to show how much liquid is needed to play particular notes. “With multiple people, Tuned Pale Ale becomes and ensemble of wind and percussive instruments,” the designers said in a statement. The multi-pack, too, can be turned into a drum that can play six notes to complete the ensemble. A small batch of the beer has been made to date, but the designers said they were looking for larger brewing and distribution options.
