Holmes & Marchant also named the new Elyssia range, which comprises a rosé Pinot Noir Brut and white Gran Cuvée Brut.
The Marlow-based design and packaging innovation company created a smaller label than is usually found on wine or Cava bottles. The label is joined to the bottle neck with a ribbon and features a range of glossy varnishes, designed to make it stand apart from the matt and gold of Freixenet’s Cordon Negro range.
Holmes & Marchant chairman Andrew Doyle said: “The idea that runs throughout the design is one of preciousness. The small label and rich materials mimic the idea of jewels, and mean that a consumer needs to pick up and handle the product.”
James Dress, international group product manager at Freixenet, said Holmes & Marchant “really understood the nature of the luxurious product that we were trying to create”.
