Confectionery firm to test Payne tear tape

The tape is being trialled for a year on a new range of ten flavoured sweets, if consumer feedback is positive, Look-O-Look will extend the use of tear tape into other products.

Look-O-Look said it chose Payne’s solution because it incorporates an easy opening device to help young consumers gain access to the product and because it complements the eye-catching cartoon decoration of the box.

Rudie Haarman, buyer for Look-O-Look, said: “We hope that this easy opening initiative will prove a popular way of helping consumers to enjoy the new flip-top box range.”

Payne is a part of the coated and security products division of Filtrona, the international plastic and fibre products supplier.

It operates from nine sites in seven countries and employs more than 330 people.
